ABU DHABI // The skies over the Eastern Region will again fill with the roar of engines as the world’s top aerobatic thrill-seekers stage their return to Al Ain Aerobatic Show.
Elite military teams, daredevil pilots, wing-walkers, parachutists and a line-up of aircraft never before seen in the region are set to entertain crowds at the family event next month.
“This year’s event will be a total sensory upgrade, from bigger seating areas, more engaging activities, superior aerial displays, our most impressive aircraft line-up yet and so much more to come,” said Sultan Al Muhairi, the event’s general coordinator.
“We are confident that the Al Ain Aerobatic Show will be on everyone’s radar to attend.”
This is the event’s 10th anniversary, timed to coincide with the 42nd National Day celebrations.
The show, at Al Ain International Airport, was postponed last year for a review to enhance and develop it.
It will pay tribute to the country’s rich culture and heritage with themed aerial displays, attractions, performances and activities.
Fans will be closer to the action, with an upgrade of video and audio equipment and larger seating areas.
There will be a seven-hour aerial programme each day, and a 60,000 square metre interactive spectator zone will be the site of the more grounded entertainment, providing free, all-day family fun for the tens of thousands of visitors expected.
A wide range of interactive stands, runway displays, a new food court, kids’ zone and roving entertainers and performances will add to the fun.
The organiser, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, will give free tickets to guests staying at all Al Ain hotels on the National Day weekend, as part of special “stay and watch” holiday packages.
TCA, which is holding the event in conjunction with the Air Force, is also looking at organising deals and offers across the city for ticket holders.
“We are taking the show to new heights,” Mr Al Muhairi said.
“We want the whole city to come alive and are launching a number of offerings to enhance the guest experience and encourage people to stay longer and do more around the city.”
The theme for this year’s event is Live Every Second.
Al Ain Aerobatic Show takes place from November 30 to December 2
The full line-up will be announced this month and tickets go on sale on October 20 through the show’s official partner, ticketmaster.ae.
