DUBAI // A salesman stole Dh24,000 from the travel agency where he was working, a court heard yesterday.
Managers at Euro International Travel noticed the money was missing on August 10 this year but there where no signs of a break in.
A partner at the company, MQ, 38, from Pakistan, recalled that the day before he had called the company office at 9.30pm and been surprised when the salesman AA, 23, also from Pakistan, answered.
He said he asked the salesman why he was working so late and the salesman claimed that he was printing tickets for customers. However, the partner reported the salesman to police the next day after finding out the money had gone.
The salesman was charged with theft, but did not attend the hearing in the Criminal Court and the case was adjourned to November 17.
