Drivers are being urged to be careful because of fog and mist across parts of the country over the next two days.
Humidity is expected to increase tonight, warned a spokesman for the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology, meaning the risk of foggy conditions would increase, especially in the Western Region, on Saturday morning.
“There is also a chance of some mist or fog between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain,” he said. “Be careful, everybody, driving in these areas.”
A north-westerly wind will begin to feel fresh on Saturday, especially over the sea.
“The sea will be moderate in general and rough at times,” the spokesman said. “Fishermen and everybody going to the sea should be careful, especially offshore.”
The wind will also cause some blowing sand in the Western Region in the afternoon.
“Drivers should be careful. It is not over all the region, it’s in selected open areas,” he said. “The desert area will be affected by this dust so the visibility will be reduced with sand, or blowing sand.
“There will be some cloud over the mountains in the eastern part of the UAE in the afternoon time.
“There may be some rain with this cloud over the mountain.”
Temperatures on Saturday in coastal areas, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai, will be between 35°C and 39°C.
Sunday will see temperatures of between 36°C and 41°C in coastal areas.
“On Sunday morning there is a chance of some fog or mist in the coastal areas, especially in the north, including in between Abu Dhabi and Dubai,” the spokesman said. “In general the temperature is less than last month.”
“August was about 48°C to 49°C maximum but now in September, especially the end half of September, the temperature is between 40°C to 45°C maximum.”
