UFL fixtures brought forward

The UAE Football League (UFL) competition committee has rescheduled rounds seven, eight and nine of the Pro League in order to minimise the effect on clubs that will have players in the UAE Olympic team at the Asian Games in China from November 7-25.

The round seven and eight match weeks were scheduled to be played over three days but will now take place over two days and both rounds have been brought forward by two days to October 21 and 22 and October 26 and 27. The new dates for round nine will be announced soon. Baniyas were the worst affected with five of their players in the Olympic team squad and the Abu Dhabi club made a formal request to reschedule their fixtures. "We work really hard to try and avoid having to make changes to UFL fixtures," Abdulla al Junaibi, chairman of UFL's technical committee, said.

"However, sometimes a situation arises where we need to review what has been agreed."
