Dubai went goal crazy yesterday as they put six past 10-man Baniyas to keep alive their hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the Etisalat Cup with a convincing 6-3 victory.
Abubakar Camara opened the scoring for Dubai in the ninth minute, before Thamer Mohammed equalised for Baniyas two minutes before the interval.
But goals either side of half-time from Sami Ambar and Camara pushed the game Dubai's way.
Baniyas's fate was all but sealed on the hour mark when Hassan Zahran was sent off.
Dubai then turned the match into a rout as Haitham Rabea, Hassan Abdulrahman and Michael N'dri all got their names on the scoresheet
Fawzi Basheer and Ahmed Ali brought a little respectability to the scoreline for Baniyas with consolation efforts, but it was not enough to deny Dubai, who are now second in Group A.
Yesterday's other game saw Kalba inflict a first defeat in the competition on Al Wasl as they claimed a surprise 2-0 win.
Ibrahim Abdulla broke the deadlock just after the hour mark to put Kalba ahead and Gregory Dufrennes was on target three minutes from time to complete the victory.
The result takes their tally in the tournament to 11 points, one behind Wasl and Al Shabab.
