Asamoah Gyan shares in the celebration spirit with Al Ain fans after the final league match.

Coach Olaroiu reveals secret behind Al Ain's success

Cosmin Olaroiu, the Al Ain coach, praised his side's supporters and said the fans were the secret behind the club's success.

The Romanian said that he never envisaged that in his professional life he would work for a club that didn’t have a large fan base.

“I am well aware of the importance of their role in football,” he said in a written statement.

“Before coming to Al Ain, I had received offers from several UAE clubs. I considered the wide popular support for Al Ain and didn’t hesitate in taking the right decision to become a resident of the Garden City.

“This is an opportune time to reveal a deep secret. When I motivate the players in the dressing room before every match, my core theme is the Al Ain fans.

“Before the players entered the pitch to face Al Jazira, I told them to look at the streets of the city and see how full they were on that day. I asked them to think about the thousands of people in the stands waiting to support them.

“Also consider the hundreds and thousands watching them on television. I am impressed upon them that everyone had put their faith in them and that it was their responsibility to satisfy these legions of fans.

“Our success this season stems from a joint effort. The management provided the technical and administrative staff as well as the quality players and the resources required. We must not forget the technical staff, players and fans.

“We have to have absolute belief that there are no limits for the ambitions of Al Ain. It is our responsibility as technical unit to please the fans through good, exciting performances to meet their aspirations.

“I believe I have put a smile on the faces on the people of Al Ain and I hope happiness of the city will continue into the coming seasons.

“Al Ain fans have to know that they were our inspiration. It was the support and belief of our fans that saw us through to the finish line.”
