Alejandro Sabella 'no-show' fuels speculation

DUBAI // Alejandro Sabella has reportedly failed to show up in the UAE to coach Al Jazira, fuelling speculation he has abandoned the club in favour of leading Argentina's national team.

It has been reported that Sabella did not board a flight to the UAE as expected, and an Al Jazira official said there is a 90 per cent chance he will not coach the club.

Sabella has been mentioned as a possible new Argentina coach after Sergio Batista was dismissed on Monday following a poor Copa America. Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino and Atletico Madrid manager Carlos Bianchi have also been rumoured as candidates.
