Tyson invited to Dubai for boxing tournament

DUBAI // Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will be in Dubai in January to promote a boxing tournament.

Organizers said Monday that Tyson will attend as a "guest of honour" to watch the 12 fights featuring male and female boxers from the Middle East and Europe.

A list of the participating fighters will be released later this month.

The Federation of Arab Boxing said Tyson is being paid US$160,000 (Dh587,760) for his involvement.
