Mikhail Grabovski’s overtime goal lifted the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Grabovski struck just over 40 seconds into the added period after being teed up by Phil Kessel.
Kessel had earlier forced overtime when he tied the game up in the third period. Nikolai Kulemin was also on target for the Maple Leafs while Pittsburgh’s goals came from Matt Niskanen and Chris Conner.
The New Jersey Devils maintained their strong recent form as they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1. Ilya Kovalchuk hit the winner for the hosts, adding to Henrik Tallinder’s earlier strike.
Dominic Moore was on target for Tampa Bay.
Blake Comeau scored twice in the New York Islanders’ 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Kyle Okposo and Andrew MacDonald added the other goals for New York, while John Madden replied for the Wild.
Defending champions the Chicago Blackhawks made it six wins in a row after a 6-4 victory over the Calgary Flames.
Jonathan Toews scored two goals, while Brian Campbell, Michael Frolik, Dave Bolland and Marian Hossa also netted for the victors.
Rene Bourque (2), Jarome Iginla and Alex Tanguay replied for Calgary.
Bobby Ryan scored from a penalty shot in overtime to secure the Anaheim Ducks a 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.
