The New York Knicks battled to a 112-107 overtime victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, Nate Robinson leading the home team with 32 points and 10 rebounds. The guard's driving lay-up with just 20 seconds remaining forced the extra period before he added six more points to end a six-game losing streak. "You kind of expect that out of him every night," the Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said of Robinson.

Dwight Howard posted a career-high 45 points to go with 19 rebounds and eight blocks as the Orlando Magic edged past the Charlotte Bobcats 107-102. Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom guided the Los Angeles Lakers to a 96-83 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Gasol recorded his first triple-double of the season, the third of his career, with 12 points, 13 boards and 10 assists, while Odom scored 15 points and had 20 rebounds.

Elsewhere, the Detroit Pistons lost their fourth straight contest in a 92-86 defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks, while Chris Paul's lay-up with 2.7 seconds left lifted the New Orleans Hornets to a 100-98 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Leandro Barbosa scored 24 points to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 140-100 thrashing of the Los Angeles Clippers, and Mike James hit a pair of key three-pointers late in proceedings to lead the Washington Wizards to a 111-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Finally, the Houston Rockets routed the New Jersey Nets 114-88, the Utah Jazz had a 117-99 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies and the Indiana Pacers beat the Philadelphia 76ers 100-91. * With Agencies
