Qassimi stays in the points hunt

Sheikh Khalid al Qassimi raised hopes of a second successive points in the World Rally Championship with a good showing in the opening leg of the Rally of Cyprus. The Emirati lies in 11th in his BP Ford Abu Dhabi car and is just 53.3secs off eighth spot and a points place. At the front, championship leader Sebastien Loeb dominated in his Citroen, going quickest on all stages to open up a lead of 41.8secs over his teammate Daniel Sordo ahead of today's stages. * The National
