Indy 200 win puts Kiwi Dixon back on top

New Zealand's Scott Dixon, the reigning IndyCar Series champion, reclaimed the points lead on Sunday with a victory in the Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, his fourth win of the year. Dixon, who was recording his 20th IndyCar career triumph, passed England's Justin Wilson for the lead on lap 36. Wilson then ran out of fuel, allowing Dixon to cruise to victory by 27 seconds. The Australian Ryan Briscoe edged Scotland's Dario Franchitti for second place. Briscoe fell three points behind Dixon with third-placed Franchitti 20 points back in the drivers' championship chase with four races remaining in the season. sports@thenational.ae
