Hussain Umid Ali, the reigning UAE AARKC Honda Champion, will on Friday night look to extend his lead in the Al Ain Ramadan Karting championship.
The Emirati was in superb form last Friday, the first of four rounds at the Raceway circuit, to finish ahead of the 28-strong field on the opening night.
Hussain led from start to finish as he set the pace in practice, with five drivers coming within one second of his qualifying time.
And after three heats, the champion enjoyed pole position in the final, and it was a position he did not squander.
He leads the Ramadan Super Prix Challenge Series after the first round on 100 points from Haytham Al Ali, 92, Abdullah Al Rawahi, 90, and Sheikh Khalid Al Saadi on 89.
Guy Sheffield, the circuit's general manager, said: "The 28 drivers covered the full spectrum of experience with first-timers joining the ranks of some regular faces, and even a couple of national karting champions thrown into the mix.
"So there is a real cross-section and last week was a fantastic start to the championship. Roll on the second round."
The first race in this evening competition begins at the Raceway at 10pm.
