Victory for Kieren Fallon and Emmrooz in Dubai

The Irishman rode Emmrooz to a three and one-half length victory in the Jebel Ali Stakes, completing a double for the trainer Dhruba Selvaratnam.

DUBAI // Kieren Fallon rode Emmrooz to a three and one-half length victory in the Jebel Ali Stakes, completing a double for the trainer Dhruba Selvaratnam.

The six-time British champion jockey rode Otaared to a narrow victory in the Jebel Ali Mile Prep, the second race, and completed the double a half-hour later on Emmrooz.

He missed a third victory when Shemoli was beaten by a neck by Hunters' Glen in the fourth race.

Capital to be bowled over

ABU DHABI // There will be plenty of strikes and spares when bowlers from more than 20 countries are to compete in the capital city for the 21st Asian Tenpin Bowling championship at the Khalifa International Bowling Centre at the Zayed Sports City from January 16 to 24.

The championship consists of the singles, doubles, trios, team of five and masters for both, men and women, with the finals being played on the 24th.
