Frankie Dettori gave Marco Botti's Joshua Tree a stunning ride from the front to land the Pattison Canadian International at Woodbine, leading home the James Fanshawe-trained Dandino for a British one-two.
Soon at the head of affairs, Dettori set just a steady gallop on the Prix Foy third, who won this race in 2010 when with Aidan O'Brien, and saved plenty for the business end, getting everything on the stretch before having just enough left to hold Dandino, who flashed home in the hands of Jim Crowley.
The ex-Luca Cumani Forte Dei Marmi was third with Michael Bell's Wigmore Hall running on for fourth.
O'Brien's Imperial Monarch travelled well for a long way under Ryan Moore and appeared to have every chance.
It was a third Canadian International win for Dettori after Mutafaweq (2000) and Sulamani (2004).
The race was part of the Breeders' Cup 'win and you're in' series', in this case for the Turf at Santa Anita next month.
Earlier, the Francois Doumen-trained, Gerald Mosse-ridden Siyouma landed a famous victory for France in the E.P Taylor Stakes.
Winner of the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket over a mile on her last start, the four-year-old took a keen hold under Mosse, who sat in an ideal position just off the heels of the leaders in this 10-furlong Group One event.
The response when he asked her to quicken in the straight was immediate and the daughter of Medicean won with her ears pricked from Olivier Peslier on the Henri-Alex Pantall-trained compatriot Pagera. Dream Peace was third and Kissable fourth.
Dermot Weld's Princess Highway tried to throw down a challenge on the outside but could never get on terms and was 10th, while Dettori's mount Havant, now with Freddie Head and once of Sir Michael Stoute, finished as well as anything but was just out of the frame in fifth. Barefoot Lady ran a big race for Richard Fahey in sixth under Tony Hamilton.
Like the Canadian International, the E.P Taylor is part of the 'win and you're in' programme, with entry fees and travelling allowances paid for the Filly And Mare Turf.
