Michelle Wie to play in Omega Dubai Ladies Masters

DUBAI // Officials from the women's European Tour say Michelle Wiewill end her season in Dubai at the final event of the year.

The officials say the American will compete at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters from December 12-17, the €500,000 (Dh2.6 million) event hosted by the Emirates Golf Club.

The 21-year-old Wie, who finished runner-up in 2009, came fifth last year after struggling for most of the tournament with a bad back.

Ranked No 10 in the world, Wie has had four top 10 finishes this year on the LPGA Tour but has yet to win an event.

Wie says in a statement her goal was winning in Dubai and that she looked forward to facing tough competition from the European players.
