Success in Europe the target now, says Chelsea's Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti will focus Chelsea's energies on retaining a Champions League place as they attempt to win Europe's premier club competition for the first time. Having conceded defeat in his defence of the Premier League title following successive blanks against Liverpool and Fulham. "I would sign now to finish fourth and win the Champions League," said Ancelotti, whose team also went out of the FA Cup yesterday to Everton. "I said at the start of the season that maybe the Champions League would be more important because we won the Premier League last year and the next step is the Champions League. The club have never won the competition, the final is in London and no London team has ever won the Champions League. There are a lot of reasons that can make it more important."
