Sanchez hoping to have Fabregas at Barcelona this season

Barcelona's new signing Alexis Sanchez is keen to avoid comparisons with the Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo and has acknowledged he would like to play with the Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

Sanchez, who signed a five-year deal late last week for a fee which could rise to almost €40 million (Dh210.8m), was presented to the press at Camp Nou yesterday and said he was keen to help bring more titles to the Spanish and European champions.

"I want to learn from players like [Lionel] Messi and Xavi - and I want to help the club win more titles," the Chile international forward said.

On the subject of comparisons with Ronaldo, Sanchez, 22, said: "I respect Cristiano Ronaldo; he's a great player. But I don't want to be compared to anyone."

Barca still hope to persuade Arsenal to part with Fabregas before the transfer window closes, and the South American said he would welcome his arrival.
