Porto win Europa League as Falcao strikes again

Porto 1 // Braga 0

DUBLIN // Porto deservedly beat Braga 1-0 in the Europa League final as a superb header by the Colombian striker Falcao settled the all-Portuguese clash at the Aviva Stadium.

Falcao swooped for his 17th goal of the competition and 38th of the season just before halftime after timing his run to perfection to meet Fredy Guarin's cross and brilliantly direct a header well out of reach of the Braga keeper Artur.

The goal was the highlight of a largely uninspiring first half in which Custodio had Braga's only real scoring chance when he fired wide.

Their next chance came in the first minute after the break when substitute Mossoro found himself clear with only Helton to beat but shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Porto lifted the same trophy when the competition was known as the Uefa Cup in 2003 and remained on course for a Portuguese quadruple this season.
