Larsson 'fits the profile'

The Marseille coach Eric Gerets admits that Henrik Larsson "fits the profile" of players they are looking to bring in during the January transfer window. Larsson will be a free agent from tomorrow when his contract at Helsingborgs officially comes to an end. The striker, 37, has been linked with a move to OM and although Gerets refused to confirm which players the club are trying to sign, he acknowledged that Larsson has the qualities they are looking for. "I gave my managers the profile of players I would like to have to complete my squad," said Gerets.

"I have a priority for one player for one post. But it's not simple, because other clubs are equally interested. "(Larsson) fits the profile we are looking for." The former Sweden striker, who lists Celtic, Barcelona and Feyenoord among his former clubs, spent two months on loan at Manchester United at the beginning of 2007. Larrson has scored 13 goals in 26 appearances for the Swedish club this season. *PA Sport
