DUBAI // Edward Sadomba, one of Africa's top strikers over the past two seasons, could be headed for relegation-threatened Kalba.
Winner of the Golden Boot in the 2011 African Champions League and the 2012 African Confederations, the 29-year-old Zimbabwean striker has scored 98 goals for the Sudanese club Al Hilal in 90 appearances, across all competitions, since 2009.
He has been linked with a move to the Egyptian club Al Ahly, but according to reports quoting his agent, Sadomba has agreed to a six-month deal with Kalba and will be arriving in the country in the coming days to sign a formal agreement.
Kalba have also brought in Abdullah Jamahi and Ramadan Mohammed on loan from Al Shabab as they strengthen the squad ahead of the Pro League's second half. The club are currently 13th on the league table, level on seven points with Al Shaab and three points ahead of Dibba Al Fujairah.
The promoted side, who have sacked two coaches since the start of the season, are on the lookout for another foreign player after deciding to release the Moroccan duo of Nabil Daoudi and Ahmed Jahouh.
Dibba have also made reinforcements to their squad, bringing in the 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Ocran to replace their injured Brazilian defender Junior, who suffered a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament. Ocran has been playing for El Gouna in the Egyptian league since 2007.
The club are also looking to replace their Asian player, Abdul Razak Al Hussain of Syria, and they are yet to make a decision on the future of the Brazilian duo of Alex and Luiz Fernando.
Achille Emana, meanwhile, could be headed for Al Wasl if Mariano Donda's medical tests confirm he will not be able to continue with the team.
Emana, who has a three-year contract with Al Ahli, has been rendered surplus at the Rashid Stadium after the arrival of the Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma and Ahli have received queries from several clubs in the UAE and abroad.
The 30-year-old Cameroonian midfielder, however, would like to stay in the country and Wasl are keen to bring him in should Donda's test next week confirm their fears.
