Hannover hang-up for coach Slomka

Mirko Slomka, the Hannover coach, believes the contract his club offered him did not reflect what he has achieved.

Slomka has guided the club to third in the table with five consecutive wins, yet he felt his club's offer of a new contract beyond June was not worthy of his achievements.

"We have done some good work and we should be rewarded for this," Slomka said.

"I did not get the feeling that we were."

Slomka has not ruled out finding a compromise to carry on his successful co-operation with the Reds.

"We are still in good negotiations," he said.

Dieter Hecking, the Nuremberg coach, is looking forward to meeting Hannover, his former club, today. "I spent six successful years as a player and a coach in Hannover and that was a great time," he said.

Borussia Dortmund, the league leaders, travel to Eintracht Frankfurt today.
