Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o celebrates his goal during the La Liga match against Almeria.

Eto'o happy for team

BARCELONA // The Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o preferred to look at the bigger picture rather than focus on his own hat-trick heroics against Almeria on Saturday night. Eto'o scored the fastest Primera Liga hat-trick in Barca's history after notching three times inside 23 minutes as the Catalan giants romped to a 5-0 victory over 10-man Almeria. All five of Barca's goals came before the 40-minute mark, with Thierry Henry and Dani Alves also getting on the scoresheet, and Eto'o was keen to highlight the team performance rather than his own display.

"I'm happy for the three goals, but I'm more happy by the team's win. We are doing a good job and that's the most important thing," said the prolific Cameroon international after recording his third treble for Barca. While Eto'o's goal glut took his tally for the season to a league-leading nine, at the other end of the scale Alves was celebrating his first-ever strike for the club following his summer switch from Sevilla.

"I dedicate the goal to my wife and my father. He called me to say that Barca score a lot of goals but I haven't. Therefore, this is for him," Eto'o said. Almeria became the seventh team Barca have scored four or more goals against in the last 17 games. Alves said: "To play against Barca is very difficult. We move the ball very well and we make things tough for our opponents." * PA Sport
