Cesar slams Inter

BOLOGNA // The veteran midfielder Cesar has lashed out at Inter Milan after leaving the Serie A champions for Bologna. The Brazilian, 34, was on the books of the Nerazzurri last season and claims he was told he would be offered a new deal, only to discover he was surplus to requirements when Jose Mourinho replaced Roberto Mancini as coach. "Four and a half months ago I was an Italian champion and then I found myself left out, abandoned from everyone, without a team," said Cesar. "I was shown the door because I was a man of Mancini. I paid the price for his sacking and it's not fair.

"In June, they made me promises and therefore I didn't worry about finding a team. Then I didn't hear anything from anyone. They forgot about me when all they needed to do was to tell me they were not interested in me. "I trusted them but they didn't merit my trust." * PA Sport
