Brown hopes Tigers can pass character test

HULL // Hull's 4-1 defeat to Sunderland last weekend enraged their manager, Phil Brown, and sparked a period of intense training for his players. "I'm looking for the players to show some character and show me what they are made of," said Brown yesterday. "No disrespect to Birmingham, but this is a game we can win and I'm interested to see how the players set about the challenge." Birmingham for their part will view victory today as just as crucial after suffering defeat to Aston Villa in their last outing. The Birmingham manager Alex McLeish admits Hull are one of the teams that his side may be fighting alongside in the desperate struggle to avoid relegation.
