DUBAI // Azizbek Haydarov could be on his way out of Al Shabab after a club official confirmed he is looking at other offers for next season.
Shabab are keen to keep Haydarov at the club for another season, but the Uzbek midfielder has yet to agree to a new deal.
Reports claim he is not happy with the financial aspects of the contract.
Obaid Al Hubaitha, the director of the Shabab first team, conceded Haydarov is considering "several other offers" and has asked for time before he makes a decision on an extension at Shabab.
"If he does not agree to our offer and leaves, we will accept that decision and try to look for an even better player," Al Hubaitha said. "The team is more important for us, not the player, no matter how big he is."
Al Wasl are being suggested as a likely destination for Haydarov, but a club spokesman there refused to comment on the rumours.
Haydarov left with the Shabab team for Riyadh on Sunday, where Paulo Bonamigo's side will meet Al Hilal on Tuesday in an Asian Champions League match.
"The season is not over yet and Haydarov is an important member of the team, and he will play an important role in the remaining matches," said Bonamigo, the manager.
The loss in the capital has ended Shabab's hopes of challenging Al Ain for the league title and Bonamigo said his team will now focus on qualifying for the second round of the Champions League and winning the Etisalat Cup, where they meet Al Ahli in the final on May 25.
