DURBAN // Fast bowler Shaun Pollock will return to the Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians, but in a new role. The South African fast bowler was a key player for the Mumbai Indians last year but had scrapped a three-year contract after quitting cricket. The Mumbai Indians had signed up Zaheer Khan during the transfer period last year to fill the gap created by Pollock's exit. But the former Proteas captain, 35, has now signed a fresh two-year deal in an advisory role with the Mumbai franchisee. "I still love the game and the pioneering aspect of a new team and a new concept is a challenge I'll enjoy," Pollock told DNA.
"My role has evolved into that of a mentor after the management approached me with an offer. I don't see myself as a coach," he said. "It is an opportunity to pass on my skills and knowledge." * Agencies
