Indian cricket board to suspend Modi

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) were last night set to suspend Lalit Modi, the Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman, following allegations of mismanagement and corruption over the last fortnight. The suspension notice was likely to have been served on him at the end of last night's final between Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings, Cricinfo reported last night. The IPL governing council are set to convene today, a meeting which will not feature Modi. The IPL chief is also likely to vacate the posts of BCCI vice-president and chairman of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament.
