Campanologist to challenge in the Preis von Europa

Coming off saddling winners in Pimpernel and Anatolian at Newmarket, England, on Saturday, Godolphin has Campanologist ready for a third German Group One success in the Preis von Europa over a mile and a half at Cologne on Sunday.

"This is the right trip for him, and he returns to Germany in good order," said Saeed bin Suroor, Campanologist's trainer.

"I am hopeful that he can run another nice race."

Jockey Frankie Dettori will be aboard Campanologist, who will face five rivals, including this year’s Rheinland-Pokal first- and second-place finishers, Earl Of Tinsdal and Saltas. French Listed scorer Seismos is also on the card.

The six-year-old triumphed over the same trip in both the Rheinland-Pokal at Cologne and the Deutschland Preis Von Lotto Hamburg at Hamburg last season.

Godolphin has been successful in the Preis von Europa with Kutub (2001) and Mamool (2003).
