US drone strike kills six Pakistan militants

MIRANSHAH //A US drone strike in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal belt on Monday killed six militants, destroying their vehicle, local security officials said.

The strike took place in Mir Ali village, 25 kilometres east of Miranshah, the main town of the North Waziristan tribal district, Pakistan's premier fortress of al Qa'eda-linked militants near the Afghan border.

"It was a US drone strike, which targeted a militant's vehicle, killing six rebels," a senior local security official said.

Another security official confirmed the strike and said the drone fired four missiles.
