Two killed in bomb blasts in Bahrain

MANAMA // Authorities in Bahrain say a series of bomb blasts has killed two people in the capital, Manama.

The Interior Ministry said that two Asian men were killed and a third person injured as at least five homemade explosive devices were detonated today.

The official Bahrain News Agency described the blasts as an "act of terrorism."

The agency reported that initial investigations indicated that one of the two dead men had kicked an explosive device which caused its detonation and killing him instantaneously. The second man died upon arrival at the hospital after the explosion which occurred near the Awal Cinema in Gudaibiya.

A third victim, a garbage-cleaning worker, sustained serious physical injuries as a result of a contraption bomb explosion in Adliya district.
