Three soldiers killed in Yemen

SANAA // Three soldiers were killed in an armed clash with militants belonging to al Qa'eda in north-eastern Yemen yesterday, according to a government official. The fighting took place in Marib province, which lies east of the country's capital, Sanaa. Yemen, one of the poorest Arab countries, has been battling a wave of al Qa'eda attacks, as well as a Shiite rebellion in the north and rising secessionist sentiment in the south.
