Israel's long arm


Israel rarely, if ever, confirms or denies its overseas military operations. The following attacks, however, are among those widely attributed to Israel:

 

September 2007: Bombing of Syrian Nuclear Reactor

A nuclear reactor built by Syria with assistance from Iran and North Korea is bombed.

 

January 2009: Attack on Convoy in Sudan

Israel fighter-bombers, backed by unmanned drones, strike a 23-truck convoy in the Sudanese desert carrying weapons for Hamas. During the 2,800-kilometre flight to Sudan and back, the Israeli aircraft refuel over the Red Sea. Gaza-bound convoys carrying weapons for Hamas. Some 119 people are reportedly killed in the attack.

 

April 2011: Bombing of Sudanese Vehicle

Israel attacks a vehicle in Sudan carrying weapons bound for Hamas.

 

December 2011: Air Strike on Two Convoys in Sudan

Israeli warplanes strike two weapons shipments from Iran, killing two people.

 

October 2012: Bombing of Iranian Weapons Factory

Israel bombs an Iranian weapons factory south of Khartoum, Sudan's capital.
