Bomb discovery forces emergency landing of Iranian airliner

TEHRAN // Security personnel defused a home made bomb found on an aeroplane during a domestic flight in Iran late on Saturday. "Minutes after the ... Kish Air flight took off with 131 passengers from Ahvaz to Tehran, security personnel found a homemade bomb" on board, the semi-official Fars news agency reported. The device was defused after the aircraft made an emergency landing in the Southwestern city of Ahvaz, the report said. The incident happened two days after a bombing of a major Shiite mosque in the Southeastern city of Zahedan killed 25 people and wounded more than 120 others, two weeks before the Islamic state's presidential election.
