French women sexually abused and shot to death while hiking in Argentina

PARIS // The families of two French tourists shot dead in Argentina were to meet a French government minister yesterday while other officials were travelling to the scene of the murder.

The junior minister for French nationals overseas, David Douillet, "will express his full solidarity and the total mobilisation of the foreign ministry in Paris and in Argentina to support them", a statement said.

The women, both 30, were found dead by hikers on Friday. One was shot in the head and apparently sexually abused and the other was shot in the back.
