Heavy rain in the north-east of the UAE has led to flooding.

UAE weather: cloudy skies forecast for Northern Emirates

After three days of heavy rain which caused severe flooding in the Northern Emirates, the forecast is for cloudy skies today and tomorrow.

Although there is a chance of rain, a spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology said no flash flooding was expected in the Northern Emirates and neither Dubai nor Abu Dhabi are likely to get any precipitation.

He added that there might be rain near the Oman border.

"Humidity will be less than before but in some areas, humidity will increase, especially at night time with the northeast wind coming in from the sea," he said.

In northern coastal areas, there will be 85 per cent humidity while in the western coastal areas it will reach 95 per cent.

"Temperatures will be same as [Saturday], which will be around 36°C-42°C degrees on the coastal areas," he said. Inland, it will be higher during the day, between 43°C to 46°C degrees but will be cooler at nighttime, which will drop to between 25°C and 31°C. On the coastal areas, it will drop from 32°C to 28°C.
