The UAE's authority for nuclear regulation is calling on the public to review and comment on their new draft regulatory guide on radiation safety.
The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) released the guide, Radiation Safety in Industrial Radiography, yesterday. It aims to help industrial radiography licensees understand and comply with FANR's regulations on basic safety standards involving ionising radiation.
The guide, which has adopted the International Atomic Energy Agency's safety regulations, is for licensees who use, manufacture, handle, store, transport or dispose of radiation material.
The draft will be available on the FANR website for a month and the authority is hoping to receive feedback from the public and federal government entities.
