UAE language school boss to scale Kilimanjaro for cancer charity

The chief executive of Eton Institute plans to scale Africa's highest peak to raise funds for cancer victims in the UAE.

DUBAI // The chief executive of Eton Institute will be setting off for Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro next month.

The gruelling trek up Africa's highest peak will begin on August 17 and will last nine days and he hopes to raise money for the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) charity through pledges.

FOCP, the UAE's first recognised cancer charity, has provided financial and emotional support to more than 900 cancer patients since its inception in 1999.

"We have taken on this challenge to impact, support and improve the quality of life and care given to cancer patients," said Dr Eli Abi Rached, chief executive of Eton Institute.
