Two thieves confess to stealing Dh500,000

DUBAI// Two Sudanese men who worked for a Dubai money exchange told police they had been robbed of Dh500,000 (US$136,100) as part of an elaborate ruse to cover their own theft. The men, a cashier, 33, identified as MB, and his supervisor, AA, 36, planned to take the money and cover their tracks by telling police that a group of African men stole the cash from MB. "The scenario that they invented was that as the first suspect was on his way to deliver the cash, three men of African origin attacked him, knocked him to the ground and stole the money," said a Criminal Investigation Department spokesman.
