Bus driver killed in multiple pile-up

DUBAI // A man was killed and almost 40 people injured in an accident involving more than 20 vehicles this morning. Dubai Police said foggy conditions had contributed to the massive pile-up on Lehbab-Jebel Ali road. The multi-vehicle accident occurred after a truck hit a bus which was stationary in the middle of the road after it had collided with another truck. "Between 20-30 cars piled up as a consequence of the crash," one witness said. The bus driver was killed and several passengers were trapped. Four people suffered serious injuries while eight had moderate injuries and 26 had minor injuries. The injured were transferred to Rashid Hospital. wissa@thenational.ae
