Abu Dhabi motorists can now renew vehicle registration online

ABU DHABI // Motorists in Abu Dhabi can now renew their vehicle's registration and apply to replace lost or damaged registration cards online.

The new service works if a vehicle has an up to date test certificate and insurance, said Lieutenant Colonel Suhail Al Khaili, head of Vehicle Licensing Section at Abu Dhabi Police.

Vehicles not older than three years from the date of registration are exempt from providing a test certificate, Mr Al Khaili said.

Colonel Barakat Al Kindy, head of System Development Division in Abu Dhabi Police, explained that individuals must first register with the Abu Dhabi eGovernment Portal which gives access to Abu Dhabi police's eServices, including the online vehicle registration site.
