DUBAI // Tom Cruise has invited hundreds of UAE residents who took part in the making of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol to a special screening of the film.
The Imax screening at the Grand Megaplex at Ibn Battuta Mall on December 13 is a thank you for the extras' work.
Cruise, the producer and leading man, spent several weeks at the end of last year shooting at a number of locations, including the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai International Financial Centre. Most of the extras were involved in party scenes shot on the Palm Jumeirah at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel.
The invitation says: "Thank you for the long hours, your endless support and your amazing contribution to this film. We hope you'll be as proud of it as we are. Enjoy! Tom, Brad, JJ, Bryan & Jeffrey." The others named are the Oscar-winning director Brad Bird, producers JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk and the executive producer Jeffrey Chernov.
The film is not due for public release in the UAE until December 15. The world premiere is to take place at the Madinat Jumeirah on December 7 on the opening night of the Dubai International Film Festival. Cruise and the other stars will appear at the gala screening.
