Thief stole Dh400,000 from car

DUBAI // A man stole Dh400,000 from a car after following its owner from a bank, Dubai Police said yesterday. The suspect, AB, is said to have tracked his victim from a Jebel Ali bank on April 11 before watching him hide the money under the front seat. AB then waited until his victim went to another bank before breaking into the car and stealing the cash. The victim was able to provide details of the thief's appearance because he noticed him loitering around the car.

AB, an Iranian, was arrested at a Dubai hotel. "The suspect showed fierce resistance but we got him under control," a Dubai Police source said. All the money was recovered. The case has been referred to the public prosecution. @Email:wissa@thenational.ae
