Sheikh Mohammed Awards pay tribute to the arts in the UAE
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has honoured 47 individuals and groups who contributed to the cultural life of the country.
The third iteration of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Patron of the Arts Award was held on Monday.
Supporters of visual art, literature, performance and film were recognised for their contributions between January and December 2011.
Among the honourees was Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the patron of the annual Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award.
