Sharjah taxi plate owners to receive Dh1m annual bonuses

The Sharjah Executive Council has approved a proposal submitted by the Sharjah Transport Corporation (STC) to pay 5,085 citizens who own taxi license plates in the emirate an annual bonus of Dh1 million, equal to two months pay.

Arhama Majid Al Shamsi, STC's assistant director general, told the state news agency Wam that payments made to plate owners during the first half of this year totaled Dh16.2 million.
