Sharjah Police arrest gang selling harmful substances to youngsters

SHARJAH // A gang of 12 Bangladeshis have been arrested after police discovered thousands of pornographic DVDs and “Chaini Khaini” tobacco cigarettes at their home.

Officers found 3,450 DVDs containing pornographic films and hundreds of packages of various types of tobacco.

The gang included a couple and their son. All were found to be in the country illegally.

The suspects confessed to selling the tobacco and pornographic DVDs during the mid-term school holidays to youngsters aged 12 to 20 years old.

Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Al Dakhan, deputy director of Sharjah Police, warned youngsters against falling into harmful habits and urged parents to keep a close eye on their children and to fill their leisure time with positive activities.
