DUBAI // The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Authority (SCTA) launched yesterday a six-day special training and orientation course for senior officials and decision makers in the Sharjah government to educate them on the importance of the cruise industry for the emirate.

The course seeks to raise awareness about the role and importance of cruise industry for the region and particularly Sharjah.

The course is part of the body's interest in tapping into the potential of the international luxury cruise tourism in the emirate as increase in arrival of international luxury cruiseliners.
