Sermon stresses role of parents in education

ABU DHABI // Parents should become involved in their children's education and make learning a family priority, the government-issued sermon urged yesterday. Students were reminded to apply themselves in school and maintain respect for their teachers. "Students should embrace learning with all integrity and enthusiasm and commitment, keeping in mind what their Government and forefathers are providing to them in terms of knowledge and education," the sermon said.

"Fathers and mothers, too, must carry out their responsibilities in educating their sons and daughters and become involved in their children's schooling. Parents should keep in mind that their children were born for a different era. Educating their children is a source of pride to the family and society." relass@thenational.ae
