Sandstorm warning to drivers as UAE weather turns wild and windy

Temperatures are expected to drop this weekend, with fresh winds, rough seas and a possible sandstorm.

"The wind is fresh at times so it will cause a sandstorm in special open areas and the Western Region," said the spokesperson of National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS). "The visibility will be poor at times."

On Thursday, the temperature will be relatively steady between 31C and 37C, but will begin to decrease in daytime.

"The Northwesterly wind will cause dust and sandstorms, and the sea will be very rough," said the spokesperson.

Continuous Northerly winds will take over the country on Friday, and the sea will be very rough with the temperature ranging between 25C and 31C.

"Due to the wind and sand, drivers should take care on highways especially," warned the spokesperson. "Fishermen and sea-goers should be aware of the rough seas."
