Sale of items held in customs nets Dh7.2 million


DUBAI // The emirate's customs department has made Dh7.2 million from 13 public auctions conducted between January and June this year. Items that had not been cleared by customs officials within their legal period were sold during the auctions.

The Jebel Ali customs centre sold items worth Dh4.4m, while the Dubai cargo village made sales worth Dh2.7m, and the Dry Port recorded sales of Dh109,000. Transportation costs, storage and customs duties are deducted from the proceeds. @Email:amustafa@thenational.ae
